The following articles lay basic groundwork for the prophecy study by covering some key principles of prophetic study: the rational for its study, what differentiates Biblical prophecies from other forms of predictions, basic rules of interpretation, and a series of keys to unlocking prophetic secrets.

Basic Rules of Interpretation

Often, people are reluctant to explore prophecies (or any portions of scripture for that matter) because they perceive the Bible as incomprehensible. The Bible's apparent complexity and confusion concerning its inerrancy generally create this perception.

The Mysterious Kingdoms of Heaven and God

The next prophetic key is the mysteries in the kingdom of God and kingdom of heaven references, which are mentioned over a hundred times throughout the New Testament. These descriptions reveal many aspects of God's spiritual kingdom and the search for their underlying meanings often inspires impassioned debates.

Babylon's Fall

Another prophetic key is the destruction of the earlier mentioned city of the obstinate wedding guests, - also sometimes called Babylon, Babylon the great, and Mystery Babylon. While the name Mystery Babylon occurs only once (Revelation 17:5), it is probably the most famous of the three because the name conveys the confusion surrounding the city's actual identity.
